It has been a rubbish winter so far and finally we had a half decent day. I thought I’d make the most of it by taking along the X100vi for a lunchtime walk. It was a bit of a dull day for lighting, pretty typical for short winter days. So I used a B&W Fuji recipe called Newspaper, originally created by renowned photographer Kevin Mullins. All photos are straight out of camera JPEGs without any edits.

I liked the contrast it creates, to compensate for a dull day. Shadows are intentionally dark, and highlights are blown out to create the mood. Kevin’s commentary on the recipe here.
