Trying to make a habit of taking the camera along more regularly. Came to Auckland for some work and utilised the opportunity to take some snaps walking down Queen Street to catch the train at Britomart. Photos taken on the Fuji X-T30ii with the Viltrox 56 mm f1.4. Used the True Chroma film recipe to…
Winter walk
It has been a rubbish winter so far and finally we had a half decent day. I thought I’d make the most of it by taking along the X100vi for a lunchtime walk. It was a bit of a dull day for lighting, pretty typical for short winter days. So I used a B&W Fuji…
Beautiful Scotland
I recently went on a holiday trip to the UK, where most of the time was spent in Scotland. These are some snaps, taken with the X100vi, with the wide converter lens.
WLG Candid
Just recently I took the opportunity to take some photos as I dropped off my folks at the airport. Aim was to capture some emotions, but at the same time not take photos that are too sharp to identify individuals. I took the X-T30ii with the Fuji 50 mm f2 prime with me. I figured…
Evening at the Garden
It’s been nearly twelve months between posts. So as I went to the light show at the Botanic Gardens in Wellington, I was adamant I was going to take the camera out. It was a bit of a juggling act with family in tow.
All photos taken on the Fuji x100vi on aperture priority, with f/2 and ISO 800 to allow for the low light. Shutter speed was automatic. I slapped on the wide converter lens so I wouldn’t have to be so exact about framing. Didn’t want to be the annoyance that ruined the family outing.
Watering the soul
This post will be a personal reflection and observation from recent trip for Umrah, rather than photography. The photos are as requested from a few friends, who wanted to share my experiences.
Walkabouts in Tokyo
Had to make a trip to Tokyo for some work at the last minute. Wanted to take a camera with me, just in case I got some time. It was going to be a pretty intense trip, so didn’t want to bother with a bunch of lenses. X100vi it was to make life easy.
Flat Autumn after work
My first foray with the Fuji X100VI. Tried out after work on a day with flat lighting. Wasn’t sure there was going to be any usable photos out of the one hour walk. Sun sets a little too quick this time of the year. Images taken with the fixed 23mm F2 lens on aperture priority…
White lives matter
The genocide has been going on in Gaza for a good six months now. During this time killing of doctors, nurses, paramedics, aid workers, and journalists have become such a common place that no news outlet bats an eyelid over these. Spare a thought for the general populous of the tiny enclave. Mass slaughter is…
Optics!
As I was watching King Abdullah of Jordan dress up like Rambo to airdrop some food into Gaza, I could not but think how callous and opportunistic this was. Pure optics for PR to show his credentials to whoever he feels he needs to impress. Together with the US, they dropped a mere 38,000 meal…
